Objective 2

Install, configure and test security hardware and software tools with supporting
documentation such as port scanners, vulnerability detection systems, intrusion
detection systems, firewalls, system hardening, anti-virus tools, patch management,
auditing and assessment.

In this project, I set up and configured Domain Name System (DNS) services within the Microsoft Azure platform. The process involved creating a custom DNS zone, adding necessary DNS records such as A, CNAME, and MX records, and linking the zone to a virtual network for name resolution. I also configured Azure-provided DNS for internal resources and customized settings for external domains. The project improved the network's organization, enhanced resource accessibility, and demonstrated how to manage scalable and secure DNS services in a cloud environment.

Project 2 Internship UAT Secure Server

The SecureServer project involved setting up and securing an Ubuntu Server using a variety of cybersecurity tools. Key software installed included Nmap for port scanning, OpenVAS for vulnerability detection, Snort for intrusion detection, UFW for firewall management, and ClamAV for antivirus protection. System hardening was completed using Lynis, and automatic patch management was configured through unattended-upgrades. Each tool was tested to ensure the server was properly defended against basic cyber threats and maintained system integrity. Overall, the project provided hands-on experience in building a hardened, well-monitored server environment.
